ABOUT PSARES.COM

What is PSARES?

PSA is Pacific Southwest Airlines. RES is reservations.

Who is Pacific Southwest Airlines? It was the employees of PSA that made the airline a favorite to millions of passengers for over 39 years. For us, the smile was not just painted on.

PSA started operations May 6, 1949 and was headquartered at San Diego International Airport; previously known as Lindbergh Field. PSA was the original low fare airline with frequent flights throughout the West. The story goes …. Herb Kelleher, founder of Southwest Airlines, was given a back-office tour of PSAs operations, went back to Texas, and the rest is history.

Why was psares.com created?

USAir purchased PSA in 1986 and the San Diego reservation office, which had been opened by PSA in 1979 was closed October 19, 2001. This office is where many of us began numerous lifetime friendships. After closing that last day, agents got together at a local establishment and have been meeting every year since.

One year later, we talked about our office, we took pictures, we swapped contact information, and we all wanted to know when we were going to do this again. So, after attending that first reunion in 2002, I realized there should be a website where we could post future reunion information. PSARES.COM went live in 2004.

Since this website was launched it has also become home to the Reservations Department Reunion Committee. This committee represents any reservation agent hired by PSA or USAir up until the closing of the San Diego reservation office on October 19, 2001.
