Reservations Department Reunion Committee

This website has become home for the Reservations Department Reunion Committee. This committee represents any reservation agent hired by PSA or USAir/US Airways at the Reno reservation office, which closed September 9, 1995, or the San Diego reservation office, which closed October 19, 2001. USAir purchased PSA in 1986. PSA had opened the Reno office December 21, 1985, and the San Diego office January 31,1979. These offices are where many of us began numerous lifetime friendships.

Who is the reunion committee?

The reunion committee is made up of a core group of volunteers who, along with assistance, organize the event each year. Please let us know if you can help in 2023.

PLANNING REUNIONS

We do our best to select a venue which is suitable for our specific needs (parking, individual tabs, etc). Within the 4-5 months prior to the event, the committee secures a location and if necessary, submits required paperwork for permits. Arrangements are then made if any food, equipment or supplies are needed. They are the first ones to arrive on reunion day to set up and are the last ones to leave making sure everything is packed up and the area is left clean. Thanks to Mary Jordan, Mickey Stanley, Bill Adair and Jim Lippert for organizing the first reunion in 2002 and thanks to all who have helped since

The committee’s biggest need is in contacting companies for our giveaways. We have a letter ready to be mailed and this can be done from anywhere. To volunteer or if you have questions contact Donna or Michael.

FUTURE REUNIONS

Our reunions are normally held the weekend closest to the date of our San Diego reservation office closing, which was the 19th of October. Infomation is posted here when dates are confirmed. Our current entry fee of $5.00 helps pay for giveaways and supports the reunion committee. Each paid entry receives one raffle ticket for our giveaways. These giveaways include gift cards to be used nationwide, donated items, and several cash prizes of $25.00-$100.00. Our 50/50 drawing normally generates $100.00+ for the winner.

When we have special events to commemorate important dates, entry fees are higher but would include food and maybe entertainment.

Pilot/Flight Annual Reunion
ANNUAL PSA PARTY

Back in the day, there was the pilot/flight reunion on a Thursday or Friday night, followed by the old-timers picnic on Saturday. The Saturday picnic stopped after 2010, but the pilot/flight reunion has continued with attendance steadily decreasing over the years. It is very important for every former employee to help support this reunion as much as possible.

The reservations department has always been invited and there have been times when we were well represented. Let’s show our support and show up in larger numbers this year. Because of the numbers they must guarantee, this may be the last year at Bali Hai. After this year, prices may be higher, venue may change, or the reunion may stop all-together.

The 2023 event will be held September 28 from 5pm to 10pm at Bali Hai 2230 Shelter Island Drive 92106. Entry fee is $40.00 cash at the door (no checks) and includes hors d’ oeuvres, a Hawaiian Themed Buffet, and a no-host full bar. Dress is San Diego casual.
